Police: Bomb Blast Inside Afghan Government Office

KABUL, Afghanistan – A police official says a bomb has exploded inside the Afghan Ministry of Information and Culture and there are a still-unknown number of casualties.

Mohammad Jan, a ministry worker, says the bomb exploded inside the building in the center of the capital, Kabul. Azizudin, a police official at the site, says the explosion caused massive damage to the building.

An Associated Press reporter at the scene says that a hall inside the ministry is destroyed, glass litters the roads nearby and office equipment is scattered all over the area.

Ambulances were carrying wounded people from the scene.
