MARIANNA, Fla. – Authorities in the Florida Panhandle are investigating after a pedestrian was struck and killed by a tire that got loose from a trailer.
The Florida Highway Patrol says 79-year-old Cecilla Gagnon of Deming, N.M., had been taking a walk along Interstate 10 when a rear set of tires separated from a trailer axle, and one bounced in her direction.
She died at the scene Sunday.
