The James Bond of the future may be a social-networking teenager.

Britain's MI6 foreign intelligence service, real-life employer of the fictional superspy, confirmed to the Guardian newspaper Monday that it was running recruitment ads on Facebook, the leading online social network.

"A career in world events? Help influence world events, protect the UK. Operational officer roles collecting and analysing [sic] global intelligence," reads one ad.

The ads pop as British Facebook users poke, leave a message or otherwise try to contact each other through the site.

"There has been a very good response so far," an MI6 told the Guardian.
