A medical marijuana user whose pot was seized nearly three years ago by California police is again a happy man.
A judge on Tuesday ordered Huntington Beach Police to return about four ounces of marijuana to Jim Spray, a 52-year-old trade show decorator who claims he uses the drug to relieve pain from a herniated disc.
Spray, 52, was arrested in 2006 with nearly 4 ounces of marijuana and a $1,000 growing system, which included special lighting and water-timing system. Charges were later dropped.
"It's still good," Spray told ocregister.com. "I almost forgot about all this."
Police have been struggling to decide how to deal with a 1996 California law allowing marijuana use for medical reasons. Federal law, however, prohibits all marijuana usage.
