Former New York Giants star Mark Ingram has been sentenced to more than seven years in prison for bank fraud and money laundering. It's a third term behind bars for the one-time NFL standout.

The 42-year-old says he tried to turn his life around before his sentencing Tuesday in a Long Island federal court. He was sentenced to 92 months in prison and must pay $252,000 in restitution.

Ingram pleaded guilty in November 2005. His sentencing was delayed as he tried to revoke the plea, fired several attorneys and missed hearings.

The former wide receiver is best remembered for eluding five tackles to make a key first down during the 1991 Super Bowl. He has been jailed for various crimes since retiring in 1996.

His son, Mark Ingram Jr., is a freshman running back at the University of Alabama.
