An alcohol-brewed drink is being blamed for killing 12 teenagers and sickening dozens of others in the West Java province of Indonesia.
The teens became ill after they drank a concoction made of vodka and kratingdaeng, a locally made drink to boost stamina, the Chinese news agency Xinhua reported.
"Twelve of them have died since Monday and 10 others are still getting medical treatment," a local police spokesman told Xinhua.
The spokesman said that most of the teenagers are recovering at home because shame prevented them from seeking hospital treatment.
