Dozens of actors are being paid to stand outside stores in Poland to generate excitement prior to Friday's iPhone launch there, Reuters reported.
The plan is to establish fake lines in front of 20 stores around the country, a marketing gimmick cooked up by Orange, the country's largest mobile phone operator.
In the United States people paid big bucks to stand in lines and get their hands on the phone when the latest model was launched in July.
The Reuters report suggests the opposite is true in Poland — that people there may not want to pay the steep monthly charges associated with the iPhone, let alone additional fees to stand in line for the device.
