Despite her previously announced participation, Tori Spelling won't appear on the CW's upcoming "90210" spin-off of the '90s teen drama.
"Earlier in the summer, we anticipated that she was going to appear in the show, but those plans were postponed for personal reasons on Ms. Spelling's behalf," CW spokesman Paul McGuire said Monday. In June, Spelling gave birth to her second child with husband Dean McDermott.
There currently are no plans for the 35-year-old actress to be part of the new series, according to McGuire and Spelling's publicist, Meghan Prophet.
Spelling's fellow original cast members Shannen Doherty, Jason Priestley and Jennie Garth will reprise their roles as special guest stars on "90210." Joe E. Tata will return as Peach Pit cafe owner Nat.
According to Deadline Hollywood Daily blogger Nikki Finke, Spelling was going to get $10,000-$20,000 per episode, but then Jennie Garth and Shannen Doherty were signed for $35,000-$50,000 a show. When Spelling found out, she demanded equal pay, but the CW said no, Finke reports.
"90210" premieres Sept. 2 (8 p.m. EDT).
