A 21-year-old woman was found dead Sunday in Colorado after being hit by two trains.

Police said the victim, Lily Peralez, may have been lying on the tracks in Fort Lupton when she was struck.

“We found a young female who appeared to have been run over by the train,” Police Chief Ron Grannis told the Greeley Tribune. “We believe she was struck by two trains. The evidence on the scene is that a train going south is the one that may have struck her. We believe she was run over by the train going north afterward.”

A Union Pacific Railroad engineer called police to report debris on the tracks.

Police investigators have not ruled out the possibility of a homicide, according to TheDenverChannel.com.

“The trauma to her body was not exactly conducive to what you’d expect with train-pedestrian accident,” Grannis said.

Grannis told TheDenverChannel.com that there were not signs of struggle or trauma.
