Firefighters in Lexington, Ky., are battling a two-alarm blaze at the offices of a pyrotechnics company in the city's downtown area, and the mayor has ordered an evacuation of nearby city blocks.

The blaze was tearing through Star Light and Magic Inc. on Jefferson Street.

Mayor Jim Newberry is calling for an evacuation of city blocks bounded by Third, Second, Jefferson and Miller streets. Smoke is visible in downtown Lexington.

Officials are being "extremely cautious" because there may be hazardous materials at the business, Newberry said in a statement he issued.

The business houses pyrotechnics used by magicians, according to Star Light's Web site.

Lt. Mike Farmer with Lexington's Fire and Emergency Services says there are no reports of serious injuries, but one person has been treated for smoke inhalation.
