Summer treats gave way to senseless violence when a Chicago-area ice cream vendor was attacked and robbed twice in just over a week by gangs of teens, MyFOXChicago.com reported.

A police official told the station that the unidentified man was riding along with his ice cream cart Wednesday in Evanston, Ill., when a gang of teens flagged him down.

They hit the man on his head with a stick and stole his wallet, which had $45 inside.

Just days earlier the same man was victimized by another group of teens who grabbed him by the neck and stole an unspecified amount of cash from his register as he was making change, MyFOXChicago.com reported.
