Police are investigating an apparent double homicide that left two women dead and six children fleeing for neighbors' homes.

DeKalb County Police spokeswoman Mekka Parish said officers responding to a 911 call from neighbors early Sunday morning found two women shot to death in a Decatur home. The children — ranging in ages from infant to 11 — were unharmed.

Parish said police are unsure the relationship between the women and the children. She says investigators do not believe the shooting was random, but there is no clear motive.

Parish says officers are talking with the older children to get information on the shooting. Police did not release the identities of victims.
