Six people are dead after a fire gutted a mobile home near Pollock in central Louisiana.

Authorities said the bodies were found after firefighters extinguished the blaze.

The fire broke out around 4 a.m. Sunday at the home in the small community of Bob. The cause is under investigation.

Grant Parish Coroner Dean Nugent said he will not release the names of the victims until autopsies are performed.

Friends and relatives told the Town Talk newspaper of Alexandria that the victims included a husband and wife, her two children, his child and a young man who was staying for the night.

Parish authorities declined to confirm that information pending the autopsies and notification of surviving family.
