Armed Robbery Suspect Flees Into NYC Elementary School, Triggers Evacuation

Officials say a Brooklyn elementary school was evacuated after a man with a gun was reported in the building. No students or teachers were injured, and police have arrested the man.

Police say the man was involved in an armed robbery nearby and ran into the school around 1:50 p.m. Wednesday. He was arrested in the school's third-floor bathroom with a loaded weapon.

Education officials say all students were taken to a nearby park and parents picked them up there.

There are almost 1,000 students enrolled in Public School 108, which has grades from kindergarten through fifth.
