Baby Hospitalized With Injuries but Expected to Survive After Third-Story Fall

A 15-month-old-girl was hospitalized with head and leg injuries but expected to recover after falling from a third-story window in Santa Ana, Calif.

Police Cmdr. James Schnabl said neighbors heard a loud sound Sunday night and found the girl lying on a cement patio outside an apartment complex.

The girl apparently crawled out of bed and went over to the window, pushed on the screen and fell out. Her father was asleep in the same room at the time.

The girl reportedly in stable condition Monday at St. Joseph Hospital in Orange, Calif.

Police were investigating the incident but believe it was accidental.
