LEXINGTON, S.C. – A Florida woman says her ex-boyfriend abducted her and their son and he now has the boy alone after she escaped when they got to South Carolina.
Authorities were searching Monday for 4-year-old Colin Nathaniel Custer. An Amber Alert has been issued for the boy.
Lexington County authorities found the boy's mother locked in a gas station bathroom Monday morning. She told them the child's father abducted them Sunday after a court-ordered visitation.
Instead, Summerfield, Fla., resident Renee Pennell-Rashell says ex-boyfriend Robert William Custer placed a cloth over her mouth and nose and she lost consciousness.
Lexington County Sheriff James Metts says the 45-year-old Custer was considered armed and dangerous.
