An abandoned Boeing 727 airplane that has been sitting at Hanoi’s Noi Bai airport since late 2007 has Vietnamese authorities scratching their heads.

The plane flew in from Siem Reap in Cambodia, Vietnam’s neighbor, and has gone unclaimed ever since, the BBC reported. An unidentified airport official told the BBC that the owners may be an airline based in Cambodia.

The plane has a Cambodian flag on its fuselage and is marked with the name “Air Dream.” However, authorities told the BBC they have been unable to find any information on an airline by that name.

Permission had originally been given for the plane to remain at Noi Bai airport until maintenance on it was complete, but the work has not yet been done.

VietnamNet speculated that the plane’s owners may not want to pay the airport parking fees. If it remains unclaimed it will be sent for scrap, the BBC reported.
