Jim McKay was remembered by relatives, friends and colleagues as an exemplary broadcaster, a great storyteller and a devoted family man.

About 200 people attended a funeral mass for the venerable sportscaster and host of ABC's "Wide World of Sports" on Tuesday at the Cathedral of Mary Our Queen in Baltimore.

McKay died Saturday at his Baltimore County farm. He was 86.

Among the television luminaries in attendance were NBC Olympics host Bob Costas, NBC news anchor Katie Couric and CBS sportscaster Jim Nantz, who was among the pallbearers.

Costas says McKay will be remembered as "one of the greatest broadcasters in the history of the medium."
