SIMSBURY, Conn. – Police in Connecticut had to act fast to keep a pipe bomb-stuffed chicken from becoming one hazardous hen.
Authorities were investigating after a motorist reported seeing the raw roasting chicken on a roadside Friday. It was packed with an improvised explosive device, the Hartford Courant reported.
Simsbury police Capt. Matthew Catania said the bomb was large enough to harm a person if it went off.
The road was closed while the Hartford Police Department's bomb squad came and blew up the near-fatal fowl.
Nobody was injured, and no arrests were made Monday night.
