Medford police say someone burned a cross and the letters "KKK" into the lawn of a man from Jamaica and also left an explosive device at his home, according to KDRV TV.

Sol White, whose husband is Jamaican, went outside her house just before midnight Monday when she heard the sound of fire.

Witnesses said there were three people on scene. A neighbor tried to chase after the suspects, but they got away, the TV station reported.

Police are still investigating and say the vandalism could be linked to the Ku Klux Klan.

"It's pretty sad to think that that's the reason, but scary at the same time," White told KDRV.

White and her family said they've never encountered racism like this before — and it may be enough to make them move.

"I can't really stay here — I will be scared for my two kids and myself and my husband," she told KDRV. "If I'm even here, I'm gonna be scared to sleep at all."
