D. C. police say two people have been shot at a vocational school in northeast Washington.

Police say a student shot a male student in the face at the Excel Institute on V Street northeast on Tuesday afternoon, then went outside and shot at a group of students, hitting a woman in the shoulder. Officials say the victims' injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.

Police say the gunman carjacked two vehicles as he fled the scene. One carjacked vehicle hit a police cruiser and another car, injuring an officer and pregnant woman.

Officers then caught the suspect and arrested him.
