AMSTERDAM, N.Y. – A Mohawk Valley woman reportedly angry over motorcycles speeding down her street is accused of throwing a beer can at a biker who then crashed and died.
Authorities say 57-year-old Georgeanna Crisalli was charged Wednesday with felony reckless endangerment for her part in the April 8 crash in Amsterdam, 28 miles northwest of Albany.
Witnesses told police that Crisalli picked up a beer can and tossed it at a speeding motorcycle driven by 50-year-old David Rivera of Fort Plain.
Rivera was momentarily distracted by the can just as a car pulled out of a side street. Police say he collided with the car and died after hitting his head on the front bumper.
They say excessive speed was the main cause of the accident.
