A former child soldier won't be reading the "Lord of the Rings" while awaiting trial in Guantanamo.

U.S. military officials say they confiscated a screenplay of the movie from Canadian Omar Khadr.

The military told reporters at the base Thursday that guards found the script mixed with Khadr's legal papers. It was confiscated because it was unrelated to his legal defense.

Khadr's military lawyer doesn't deny giving him the script. Navy Lt. William Kuebler says he wanted to build with rapport with the 21-year-old prisoner.
