An Air Force reservist was found stabbed to death in a hotel room on a Texas base where she had been taking a training course, officials said.
Senior Airman Blanca A. Luna of Chicago was pronounced dead Friday, shortly after she was found unresponsive with a stab wound, Sheppard Air Force Base spokesman George Woodward said.

The Air Force Office of Special Investigations and the 82nd Security Forces Squadron is investigating, but no arrests have been made, Grissom Air Reserve Base said.
She had been attending the heating, ventilation and air conditioning initial skills course with the 366th Training Squadron, Woodward said.

Luna had been part of the 434rd Civil Engineer Squadron at Grissom Air Reserve Base since February 2007 and had been on temporary duty at Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls, Texas, since September. She was set to graduate the training course Monday.

Sheppard, the largest technical training operation in the Air Force, has about 5,000 students on base at any given time. Most arrive there after completing basic training at another base.
