New York City police say three people were stabbed on a midtown Manhattan sidewalk during lunch hour.

Police say two people suffered stab wounds to the hand and a third was cut in the face during the incident Monday. A suspect was in custody, but the charges were not immediately determined.

The three victims were taken to Bellevue Hospital. A spokeswoman wouldn't release their conditions, but police said their injuries are not life-threatening. It wasn't clear if the victims were also robbed.

The stabbings happened at about 12:30 p.m. on 45th Street near Fifth Avenue.
