U.S. Highway 41 in western Kentucky has reopened and police are allowing people to return to an area near Henderson that was evacuated after a traffic accident involving a tractor-trailer carrying explosives.

Kentucky State Police Trooper Joe Woo says no one was injured in the accident and the evacuations were a precaution.

Police blocked traffic for about an hour at the accident site on the outskirts of Henderson, near the Ohio River bridge between Kentucky and Indiana.
