New York Sports Bar to Feature Mock Electric Chair

BUFFALO, N.Y. – A sports bar planned near the Buffalo Sabres' home ice will feature a smaller-scale Jumbotron, sports ticker — and a mock electric chair so fans can torment a dummy wearing a rival team's jersey.

Co-developer Quinn O'Brien says that when the Sabres, Bills or minor league baseball Bisons score, they'll flip the switch on the life-size, animated dummy.

It's meant to be in good fun, he says.

Benchwarmer's Sports Bar & Grill is expected to open around the corner from the HSBC Arena in April. O'Brien, a bar manager, is developing the new place with Shawn Bailey, a former bar owner.
