A Florida maintenance worker was killed on Thursday after his body was crushed by a garbage truck during an accident at a landfill garage, Local10.com reports.

Raul Figueroa, 45, who had worked for Waste Management Inc. for seven years, had been repairing the truck when its mechanical arm retracted, severing his body, fire spokesman Gary Fernays told the station.
"The maintenance worker was making repairs to a garbage truck when the remote arms on the back of the truck retracted, crushing the man under the arms against the truck," he told Local10.com.
The death was being called accidental, the station said.
