LOS ANGELES – It seems itty-bitty party girl Tara Reid could do with a good dose of “American Pie."
Sporting a somewhat scary skeletal swimsuit style in Bali last week, Reid resembled adult star Jenna Jameson so much that some tourists stopped in hope of getting some X-rated snaps.
“She’s so tiny now that nobody really realized it was Tara,” an eyewitness at a Bali hotel told Pop Tarts. “She was by the pool when a group of American tourists started buzzing that it was Jenna, but naturally Tara kept on walking.”
But could Reid’s boney bod be bordering on dangerous?
According to the U.K. newspaper The Sun, the screen star collapsed on the Indonesian island last weekend and was taken to the hospital, but later released.
And although Ms. Jameson’s career in flesh-flashing flicks was the real deal, Tara's is just pretend.
On a media blitz Down Under to earn quick Christmas cash, Reid was paid to be a “prostitute” for one night as the host of a Hooker Ball in Darwin (and ironically enough, organizers advertised her as an “A-lister”).
Reid has actually taken on a number of not so A-list jobs of late, such as shooting commercials for a sleepwear firm and a cut-price telecommunications company.
But would she ever really follow in the footsteps of her look-alike and pop a porn flick or two?
“A few years ago I would have said no way, because she was at the height of Hollywood and could have gone on to such big things,” an insider who previously worked with Reid told Pop Tarts.
“Unlike a lot of young actresses today, Tara was very talented, but she gave into the wild side of Hollywood. With regard to the projects she chooses, nothing would surprise me.”
In the middle of her “high-end” duties down south, Tara also reportedly made time to make out with the ex of an "Angel."
Just a couple of months ago, Victoria’s Secret supermodel Miranda Kerr (now rumored to be romantically linked to Orlando Bloom) parted ways with her longtime man, musician/model Jay G Lyon. And according to various Australian media outlets, he wasted no time getting to know Reid during her stay…
Katie Holmes Can't Keep Her Mouth Closed
There is no mistaking the fact that Katie Holmes is now one of the most fit and fab babes around.
But this 29-year-old still loves to gloat about her grub ... and her husband, Tom Cruise.
“My whole family and Tom’s whole family will go up to Telluride [Colorado] again. We ski. We have big dinners and laugh. We love cooking. My mom’s stuffing is my favorite. I’m a huge fan of pie, especially pecan,” Katie told Parade magazine while discussing her holiday plans.
“I will probably cook some garlic mashed potatoes and maybe a cheesecake. We always make a lot of sugar cookies with decorating and sprinkles. Suri will be in the dough everywhere.”
But meals weren’t the only item on the menu — it seems Holmes really does think hubby Tom is “Top Gun,” because she couldn’t stop saying his name.
“Tom has shown me the greatness of extra chocolate chips. Tom’s really good in the kitchen. He makes great pasta carbonara and lemon pasta.
“The first time I went on a motorcycle was when I met Tom. I had never gone on one before because my father is a lawyer, and he had seen a lot of accidents.
“Tom has introduced me to so many new experiences. I have done things I never thought I would do, like climbing mountains and flying in the P-51 [a World War II fighter].
“This summer, when Tom was working in Germany, [Suri would] wake up and say, 'Hello, Berlin.'
“My husband has three sisters. He was raised by a single mother and has two daughters — and he’s a great father and husband. His first two children are incredible, really smart and kind. They call me 'Mom.' So Tom understands the female bond, and he loves it.”
Ah, I guess that is why they’re called TomKat … it’s a package deal. You can’t have one without the other!
But what we find particularly interesting here is that Cruise’s two adopted children (with Nicole Kidman) call Katie "Mom," when just last week, Nicole complained on GMTV:
“My kids don't call me mommy, they don't even call me mom. They call me Nicole, which I hate and tell them off for it.”
Mary J. Blige Has a New 'Mom' … and Has Something to Say to Jamie Lynn
Mary J. Blige is considered to be one of the mothers of the music industry, but according to Patti LaBelle, the hip-hop star is her baby girl.
Target presented a big bash for Blige at the Big Apple’s SoHo Grand on Tuesday night to celebrate the launch of her eighth album “Growing Pains," but according to our spy, Patti was mothering the star of the party.
“Patti was all over Mary all night long, checking that she was OK and telling everybody that she was just like a daughter to her,” the insider told Pop Tarts. “It was quite overwhelming. John Legend also snuck in a little later and hung out with them — I think it was a bit of relief.”
But speaking of moms and mayhem, Blige does have a message for 16-year-old Jamie Lynn Spears , who is preparing to become a mommy.
"Stay strong, baby girl," Blige said via MTV. “If that's her choice [to keep the baby], then congratulations. Hope she's responsible, and I hope she understands what that brings. ... You have to change your lifestyle up, so [your children] can look at you as an example. It's all about Mommy being an example, Jamie. That's what it's about."
Speaking of the lil’ Spears sister, big sis Britney Spears has been spied picking up some goodies for the mom-to-be.
According to TMZ, Spears went shopping (surprise, surprise) on Wednesday night and spent $500 at baby boutique Petit Tresor and even ordered a “Hot Mama 2” tank from Tuni & G as well as some onesies, sneakers, socks and a stuffed elephant.
And even though he knocked up their little girl, apparently Mr. & Mrs. Spears still adore Casey Aldridge. People magazine reports that Casey has been very close to the “Crazy” clan for quite some time now, and that he takes such good care of lil’ Jamie Lynn...
