Shoppers had more than the usual amount of holiday stress on Saturday as a fire destroyed a Philadelphia-area toy store on Saturday afternoon.

“People were rushing out of the store,” says Jud. “We were just leaving south Philly getting ready to come over the Walt Whitman bridge and we saw heavy fire and smoke on top of the roof of the building.”

Authorities reported no deaths or injuries as flames destroyed the Toys ‘R’ Us in south Philadelphia. Firefighters battled thick smoke and huge flames shooting from the roof and front of the building, but were able bring the blaze quickly under control.
