More than $4,000 worth of underwear was stolen from a Victoria's Secret store in Murfreesboro and police are trying to determine if the theft is connected with a ring of thieves hitting stores in other states.

It is the second time in three months that bras and panties were taken from the same store in Stones River Mall.

Police said there are possibly four suspects working together to steal the items, distracting a clerk in the process.

Similar thefts occurred at the same stores in New Jersey, Kentucky and New Hampshire. Police said the suspects worked in groups of three and four in these cases.

Police said the items could end up being sold online, or at a flea market or possibly sent out of the country.
