A Missouri couple is suing Walgreen Co., claiming that a pharmacy error caused the wife to have a miscarriage, according to a Bloomberg news service report carried by the Chicago Tribune.

The suit, filed last week in federal court in St. Louis, claims that Chandra Givens lost the baby she was carrying less than a month after a Walgreens pharmacy mistakenly filled a prescription for prenatal vitamins with a chemotherapy drug.

The suit goes on to fault Walgreens for not properly supervising pharmacy personnel. A Walgreens spokesman declined to comment on the suit, saying the pharmacy had not yet seen the complaint.
