Delaware State Police are announcing an arrest in connection with a series of sexual assaults in New Castle County.

Police Superintendent Colonel Thomas Mac Leish has scheduled a news conference in Newark to give details of the arrest made early Tuesday.

Police earlier this month gave a description of a man that they believed was responsible for the sexual assaults of eight women. Several of the victims accepted rides from a man and were assaulted in June, August and September. In at least some of the cases, the women were threatened with a large knife.
