Dead Man Found in Avocado Tree

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – Autopsy results are pending for a man found dead in an avocado tree.

Miami-Dade police say the man may have been electrocuted while picking avocados from the tree in Dorothy Saunders' back yard. Saunders first noticed the man's body about 20 feet up in the tree yesterday morning, though she had noticed a bicycle and a crate under the tree on Friday.

Relatives and friends have identified the man as 54-year-old William Collier, who lived a few blocks away from Saunders in Miami Gardens. They say the last time they saw Collier was on Thursday.
