LIPSCOMB, Ala. – Now that two city council members have been arrested and the city police department has been accused of harassment, the community naturally turned toward their elected officials for guidance.
The problem is the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department is investigating how a car from Virginia, which was reported stolen from Walker County, ended up in Lipscomb and driven by Mayor Simon Speights.
Speights called an abrupt end to a public meeting Tuesday night, where Lipscomb residents let him know their concerns.
