Israel to Allow Exiled Palestinian Leader Nawef Hawatmeh to Attend West Bank Meeting With Abbas

Israel will allow exiled Palestinian leader Nawef Hawatmeh, responsible for an infamous attack on an Israeli school more than 30 years ago, to attend a meeting in the West Bank summoned by Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, a spokesman said.

Prime Minister Ehud Olmert's office said the Damascus-based Hawatmeh will be allowed to stay in the West Bank only for a few days.
