ST. CHARLES, Mo. – A computer security consultant accused of killing his wife and three children in northern Illinois made his first court appearance Monday in this St. Louis suburb where he was arrested over the weekend.
Jailed here as an out-of-state fugitive, Christopher Vaughn, 32, said nothing during the hearing, which lasted less than two minutes. He wore an orange jail uniform, handcuffs and leg irons, and his hair was unkempt.

Vaughn was arrested Saturday at a funeral home here just hours before a memorial service for 34-year-old Kimberly Vaughn and children Abigayle, 12, Cassandra, 11, and Blake, 8.
St. Charles County Associate Judge William Lohmar, at the state of Illinois' request, ordered Vaughn to remain jailed without bond, revoking a $1 million cash bond set earlier.
Vaughn will have to be extradited to Illinois to face murder charges against him, but the hearing only concerned the fugitive charge. The extradition matter was not mentioned.
Although no plea was entered, defense attorney David Waltrip said his client intends to plead not guilty to the fugitive count. Vaughn's next court date in that case is scheduled for July 25.
St. Charles County prosecutor Jack Banas said outside court that the fugitive count would be dropped if and when Vaughn is returned to Illinois.
Banas said he could not predict when Vaughn's extradition hearing might come up for a hearing in court.
