Police on Thursday were trying to determine whether a leg that washed up behind the Gold Coast, N.Y., mansion of Cablevision CEO James Dolan is connected to a torso found earlier this month, the New York Post reported.
A landscaper discovered the human leg just after 8 a.m. near the Cove Neck house on the Long Island Sound.
"It does appear to be a lower extremity of a human body," said Nassau Homicide Squad Detective Sgt. Richard Laursen.

The leg, which was found in a dark plastic bag and tied up with green gardeners' twine, appeared to be female and had pink toenail polish, sources said.
It was half in and half out of the bag when it was found several yards from a cement boat launch on a rocky private beach behind Dolan's estate.
Earlier in March, a beachcomber found a dismembered torso in a suitcase at Harbor Island Park in suburban New York City, the Journal News reported.
That body part was found in a dark-colored bag and is believed to be that of a woman of Hispanic or African American descent who would have been 35 to 50 years old and weighed 180 to 200 pounds, Lt. James Gaffney said. There was a stab wound, he said, but he would not give details.
The Associated Press contributed to this report.
