North Carolina Jailers Find Drug-Filled Bible in Inmate's Mail

Jailers in Rowan County received a surprising package addressed to one of their inmates recently.

It was a hollowed-out Bible filled with cocaine, marijuana and hydrocodone.

Authorities say they've charged seven people with conspiring to get drugs into the Rowan County jail, and sheriff's deputies say more arrests are expected.

Captain John Sifford of the sheriff's office says it's not unusual for people to try to sneak illegal drugs and tobacco into the jail. He says the system for catching the drugs is working.
