A Bowie, Md., high school football coach has been charged with sexually abusing a 15-year-old girl, and according to police documents, he also hired her out in the District of Columbia as a prostitute.

Arron Burroughs, 35, was ordered held without bail Tuesday during a hearing at Superior Court in the District. The junior varsity football coach at Bowie High School was arrested Monday night at a Washington motel and charged with first-degree child sexual abuse.

According to the police documents charging him, Burroughs, who is also a Metro bus driver, admitted having sex with the girl several times, starting in September 2005 when she was 14. He also told authorities that he had brought the girl from Maryland to Washington so she could work as a prostitute, the documents state.

Police in Takoma Park, Md., spotted the girl and another man early Monday morning in a car. The girl was paid $150 for a sex act, according to the charging documents.

The girl told officers that Burroughs was her pimp and that he had brought her to Washington several times since September 2005 for prostitution. Burroughs had rented a room at the motel on New York Avenue. Police had the girl call Burroughs and arrested him when he came to the motel.
