Apple Computer Inc. (AAPL) on Wednesday said two lawsuits have been filed against the company, one in federal district court and another in state court in northern California, over its awarding to stock option grants.

The lawsuits were filed in the Northern District of California and the Superior Court for Santa Clara County and make claims against current and former officers and directors, the company said in a statement.

Last week, Apple announced it had discovered irregularities in the issuance of certain stock option grants and said it was conducting an independent investigation into the matter.

Apple said it is evaluating its response to the lawsuits.
