Police circulated a security videotape showing a gunman firing shots and people scrambling for cover in an off-Strip casino where a man was killed and a woman was wounded in a weekend shooting.

"The tape's good enough that we think we can (identify him)," said Sean Walker, a North Las Vegas police spokesman.

In video footage, a man who appears to be in his late teens or early 20s is seen firing a handgun during a fight about 4:25 a.m. Sunday inside the Silver Nugget casino about seven miles north of the Las Vegas Strip.

Casino security guards had begun clearing people out of a billiards hall after a disturbance involving several men and women who police said appeared to be in their late teens or early 20s. The guards aren't seen on the video released to the media.

At least one punch is thrown in an argument between two people before a man splashes a drink in the face of the gunman, who pulls out a handgun and begins shooting.

Neither victim is seen, and authorities did not immediately release information about the man who was killed.

Police said the woman was shot in the hand. She was taken to a hospital for treatment.

Video images clearly show the gunman's face and clothing, including a dark baseball cap with the brim turned to the back of his head, a dark sweat shirt and oversize cargo shorts.
