BURBANK, Calif. – Actor Robert Blake (search) has finished testifying in a wrongful death lawsuit against him by his murdered wife's children.
Blake, acquitted of Bonny Lee Bakley's (search) murder in March, spent seven days on the witness stand in the civil trial. He finished by going over part of what he says happened the night Bakley was killed in 2001.
The 72-year-old actor showed jurors how he retrieved a handgun from the floor of a restaurant where the couple had dined. He said he'd left Bakley in his car when he realized he'd forgotten the weapon.
Blake also said he'd put the gun under a sweatshirt on the seat of the booth and that the gun must have slipped to the floor. He said he returned to the car to find Bakley shot.
