Mariah Carey (search) and the Killers (search) will perform at the MTV Video Music Awards. They join previously announced performers Kanye West, Green Day and Kelly Clarkson, MTV announced Tuesday.

Carey's "The Emancipation of Mimi" recently topped 4 million copies sold.

Her video for "We Belong Together" is nominated for best female video and best R&B video.

The Killers' "Mr. Brightside" is up for four awards: best group video, best rock video, best new artist and best art direction.

The 2005 VMAs, hosted by Sean "P. Diddy" Combs, will air live from Miami on Sunday, Aug. 28.
