A crash involving a car and a school bus in this town Monday left several people injured.

The accident happened shortly after 7:00 a.m. EDT at the intersection of Copeland and Southward Streets.

Deputy Fire Chief George Phillips said the car ended up beneath the bus, and the jaws of life were used to extricate two of the people who were in the car. All four were taken to area hospitals for treatment of serious injuries.

Phillips said as many as three students on the bus suffered minor injuries and were taken to hospitals for observation.

The bus was reportedly taking students to the Cardinal Spellman High School (search) in Brockton (search).

Police are investigating the accident.
