VENTURA, Calif. – Former "Growing Pains" star Tracey Gold (search) pleaded not guilty Tuesday to charges that she was driving drunk when her sport utility vehicle overturned, injuring her husband and 7-year-old son.
Tracey Gold Marshall, 35, did not speak as her attorney entered the pleas on her behalf to three felony counts.
She is charged with driving under the influence of alcohol causing bodily injury, driving with a blood-alcohol level above 0.08 causing injury and felony child endangerment.
The maximum possible sentence is five years in prison, but the district attorney's office said it was common for people in such cases to receive probation or a lesser amount of jail time.
Marshall wasn't hurt when the SUV flipped on a highway in Moorpark on Sept. 3, but her husband, Roby Marshall, 39, injured his neck. The couple's 7-year-old son suffered a broken collarbone and a cut above his eye. The couple's two other sons, a 5-year-old and 4-month-old, were also in the SUV but weren't hurt.
The SUV veered off the highway just before midnight and rolled over as it went down an embankment.
Her lawyer, Blair Berk, declined to discuss details of the incident.
"(Marshall) is acting very responsibly and taking all this very seriously," Berk said. "All of her family — her husband and her children — are all incredibly supportive."
Marshall played Carol Seaver during the seven-year run of "Growing Pains," which ended production in 1992.
She was pregnant with her youngest son when she filmed the latest reunion movie special, "Growing Pains 2: Return of the Seavers," which aired Saturday on ABC.
