NEW YORK – Vanessa Carlton, Rosario Dawson (search) and Susan Sarandon (search) will participate in an event aimed at getting young, single women to vote in the upcoming presidential election.
The Sept. 13 event will feature entertainment and talks on feminism, politics and civic transformation. It is sponsored by three organizations that promote women's issues and voting: V-Day (search), Rock the Vote, and Vote, Run, Lead (search).
Julia Stiles, Isabella Rossellini and Gloria Steinem are also slated to attend.
"With 65 percent of women making up the majority of undecided voters, this event is a rallying call to activists nationwide that we must do everything we can to ensure that all women make their voices heard," said Marie Wilson, president of the White House Project, an activist group.
