Have you lost your job this year?

At least two people in my audience Thursday said yes. They are really livid about this and they told me that the president should create more jobs.

I've been talking with economists all week about this (this is how I have fun off the air) and they keep telling me that a president can't just "create" jobs, nor should he. They say the off-shoring of jobs is a force of globalization (search) that just is what it is. It's so big that no president can just turn back the tide.

Which won't exactly make you happy if you're reading this and unemployed -- there are few things worse than being out of work and wondering how you're going to feed your family.
