A series of car bomb attacks on Monday killed 34 to 40 people in Baghdad (search), shattering what should have been a solemn day as Iraq began observing the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.

About 12 people were killed at the International Committee of the Red Cross building in central Baghdad and 27 others were slain in attacks on four police stations. Most of the victims were Iraqis. The U.S. military said one American soldier was killed in one of the police station attacks.

Is the situation in Iraq on the verge of spiraling out of control? We’ll get firsthand accounts from Reps. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn., and Steve Israel, D-N.Y.

Does our military need to change the rules of engagement in Iraq? We’ll ask retired U.S. Marine Corps. Col. Ed Badolato and retired U.S. Army Maj. Gen. Don Edwards.

Plus, who is behind Monday's rash of car bombings? We’ll get insight from Jessica Stern, author of Terror in the Name of God: Why Religious Militants Kill.

And, battling the burn: We’ll have the very latest on the deadly wildfires (search) that are sweeping across southern California with Greg Sears, captain of the San Bernardino Fire Department.

We’ll also look at the human toll of the raging fires with Rich Udell, who was forced to evacuate his house in San Bernardino County.

In the showdown in Motown Democratic candidates hammered President Bush for his Iraq policy. But do any of them have a better plan for improving the situation over there? We’ll ask Rich Lowry, author of Legacy: Paying the Price for the Clinton Years, and Chuck Dolan, Democratic strategist.
