About the father facing felony charges for allegedly slugging the ump at his son's ball game:
Thursday on DaySide, we were just getting into the discussion with the dad in question, his lawyer and a prosecutor in the case... when suddenly Defense Secretary Don Rumsfeld (search) appeared out of nowhere! It happens sometimes -- hey, he outranks me.
Fortunately, our guests have graciously agreed to return to Friday's show to discuss this case.
In a nutshell: With more and more reports of parents getting violent at their children’s sporting events, (over a bad call, etc.), has it reached the point that we need to slap them with felony charges and send them to jail?
It seems mighty extreme. But when I asked the audience during a commercial break, they shouted back a resounding, "YES!"
